Before booking a professional skills test for prospective teachers you will need to register online with PSI. Initial teacher training (ITT) students already on courses that started before Monday 1 July 2013 will need their Teacher Reference Number (TRN).
New applicants can register before applying for teacher training and don’t need a reference number or TRN. You must take the tests after you have applied and you will need to provide evidence of your application when you attend the test centre.
All candidates will be asked to provide their personal details. These should match exactly the details in your application form and the ID you will use when attending the test centre. If the details don’t match, you may not be permitted to take the test.
All correspondence will be sent by email so it is essential that you give a valid email address when you register. To stop correspondence going into junk folders, please add the email address on this page to your contact list.
Once you have registered you can book your skills test online.
PSI's helpdesk is available from Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm
